I love Spring Break. The kids are old enough that Spring Break is no longer MORE work for me as a mom.
Karaline has researched and written a report on "black-tailed prairie dogs", and finished some pages in her math book on "averaging". Note that neither of these were assigned by her teacher. In fact Karaline is going to a new school for the 4th quarter. She will be attending public school for the first time and is very, very excited. We did some final school supply shopping today and Karaline has her backpack organized so she will be ready for her new class in seven days.
Brock shot a 42 on nine holes yesterday with his dad and their friends Peter and Ian (Peter's dad). He loves golf. We spent an hour wandering around the PGA Superstore today and Brock didn't want to leave. Of course he loves baseball, too. He played a great game on Saturday, but his team was over-matched. Brock plays a lot of catcher made another spectacular foul-ball pop-up catch. He followed up his catch with a throw to first base for a double-play.
Jake, who has officially been accepted to Brophy, is juggling school baseball, YMCA basketball and golf at Stonecreek Golf Club every free minute. I have no idea how he was one of only 3 eighth graders to maintain straight A's during the third quarter. He was called in to pitch during the third inning of the last school baseball game and showed a lot of poise and technique. Bummer for him that it was an "away" game and he didn't have much of an audience!
